Biography: Vijay Jolly is a Professor of Strategy and Technology Management at the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland. He graduated in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, and gained a Ph.D. in business economics from Harvard University. His areas for special interest are strategic management, international strategy formulation, new business creation, and the commercialization of technology.
Jolly also taught at the International Management Institute in Geneva, where he initiated and directed several programs and seminars and served as faculty chairman for three years. Prior to joining academia, he worked for several years in banking, holding positions at Citibank and the World Bank. He is a member of the Licensing Executive Society and the author or co-author of numerous articles and case studies.
